Review of Divorce Corp. (2014) by Tracy D — 25 Sep 2015
A terrifying peek under the skirts of the family court system in the United States. Couples going through the already painful process of divorce and custody battles are abused and financially broken by an unaccounted for and thoroughly greedy and despicable family court system. Corrupt judges have their pockets lined and campaign coffers filled by corrupt lawyers, and any spare change remaining is siphoned off to judicially appointed court psychologists, counselors, private detectives and anyone else currying favor with the court. The true losers are of course the children, the very people that are supposedly protected by this evil empire. Parents are practically held upside down so that every last penny is shaken from pocket and purse.
I have seen several "Boycott Divorce Corp" sites and have to wonder who is behind them. If we "follow the money", as Gloria Allred advises in the film, it would seem likely that the lawyers and courts are the culprits, since the financial tsunami created from fleecing the parents lands directly in their pockets.
I found this documentary to be a bit like watching a train wreck...all crashing steel and blood and gore. Riveting yet terrifying. A must see for any couple planning to marry and have kids.
