Review of Divorce Corp. (2014) by Isaac H — 29 Sep 2015
Before getting married, WATCH THIS FILM! Though marriage is a legal way of protecting each other through insurance and a way of expressing monogamous love, in the United States it is a 50/50 lottery ticket named divorce.
After watching this I was in tears imagining having to go through any of the things portrayed in the documentary, and I'm not even married or have any children. You walk away feeling disgusted by your own country, by your own people, and almost by humanity. If the film didn't provide how Scandinavian countries do the complete opposite as us, I'd not recommend this to anyone who had gone through divorce because I couldn't imagine the helplessness getting any worse.
Family court should be destroyed and all memories of it abolished. In its existence we find all evidence necessary to prove to any god or alien race that we are not a fit society and are unfit to continue as a species. Even with war and mass destruction rampant throughout the world, our country has found a way to turn good people into vile corrupt individuals overnight simply based on necessity. Not because they want to, but because if they don't, they'll lose everything they know and hold dear overnight. And sometimes just because the judge was paid off through campaign contributions by one of the lawyers.
I have watched 1,000s of documentaries for research and for the sheer meaning of self expansion, but this one did something different. This one tore a piece of my spirit away from me. I guess I end this review by saying "Unless you are a heartless sociopathic and deranged human being, I can not recommend you watch this. You just won't be prepared for what it does to you.".
