Review of Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (2002) by Jana S — 19 Aug 2007
A great adaptation of the book(s). Sandra Bullock was great (though unlike the Sidda Walker in the book- closer to young Sidda in movie) Ashley Judd was incredible as Vivi. So damaged and disturbed, but still compelling and relatable.
This movie is a drama, not just a "chick-flick". It's a powerful movie. The book is, of course, better, but overall it's a well done adaptation.
