Review of Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (2002) by Sarah M — 26 Aug 2007
The books (all three of them) are so good, and this film captures the feeling so well. Maggie Smith and Fionnula Flanagan in particular are both hysterical and sympathetic, and Ashley Judd and Ellen Burstyn share a character both flawed and compelling.
The roofie scene is particularly funny, as is all of the interaction between Ellen Burstyn and Sandra Bullock.
