Review of Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (2002) by David M — 29 Dec 2008
I had read the book, and Little Altars before seeing the movie, and was afraid I would be disappointed, as one often is when books are made into films. I had nothing to fear. The ensemble cast was perfect, and the story remained fairly true to the book(s), with a few changes that weren't pivotal to the underlying story.
The depiction of the relationships between the women in the story, much like Steel Magnolias, is rings true for any woman who has that intimate circle of friends who always have your back, and love you, warts and all.
