Review of Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood (2002) by Angela 7 — 27 Aug 2009
18/20 - STORY:
I liked the story. About 4 best friends, and about a mother daughter relationship. And about a woman's life who battled alcoholism and wanted more in her life.
15/20 - CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT:
Pretty good showing how the mom was always spunky and adventurous. And showing the relationship of the mom and daughter.
18/20 - ACTING:
The little girl who played young Viviane did a great job. So did the young Sidda. And the way the old ladies bickered like they were 10 year old siblings haha. Great chemistry between the 4 best friends.
15/20 - DIALOGUE:
Few pretty good quotes in here.
20/20 - AESTHETICS:
I really liked the feel of this movie, what with the flashbacks of the 60's just lazying on the beach with a southern accent. And a gorgeous showcasing of the cars back then... *drool..
