Review of Divergent (2014) by Jon W — 08 Apr 2015

Just like the Hunger Games, I struggle to like these films with ridiculous underlying scenarios because they're so formulaic, but I guess they're popular with the kids. Well, this was on TV so I watched it.

I'd say that the first hour and a half was okay, but then it's dragged out for another 50 minutes, where it all just gets out of hand. There's a relationship that (unless I really missed something) seemed to spring out of nowhere about two thirds of the way through the film and people being killed for reasons that never really make much sense.

I guess I'm too old too appreciate this.
