I wouldn't say it was bad but it just seemed to be a paint-by-numbers film. It was just all pretty generic. Out of the post apocalyptic books to films trend, I'd say it's somewhere in the middle, not as interesting as the politics and moral discussion of Hunger Games, but it at least makes more sense than Maze Runner.
