Review of Disturbia (2007) by Andrew B — 24 Aug 2012
The thing that seperates Distubia from other recent horror films is the PG-13 rating. This film understands that blood and guts flying in every direction does not count as horror. This film has a bit of a build up before the real terror begins.
The film is like a modern day version of Rear Window. Except instead of a man in a wheel-chair, our hero is a teenage boy who cannot leave his house due to problems with the police. And the character is surprisingly complex. If you're looking for a horror film that knows what it's doing, this is for you.
