Review of Disturbia (2007) by Jacob J — 13 Oct 2012
I enjoyed this movie a lot, a kind of Rear Window meets Fright Night with a bit of the Stepfather.
Shia LaBeouf is great here and thank God because there's nobody else really to shine. Sure, Sarah Roemer is ace eye candy and Aaron Yoo does a good job as the goofy friend (sidekick) but David Morse gets nothing to do here, a total waste of what could have been an ace role for him.
Carrie-Anne Moss (matrix) also has very little to do and when she is in danger did you really care? Nope? Nor me.
It's a watchable movie and in fact the first half is really good, it's just a shame they ran out of ideas and everything that happens in the movie up to the last 30 mins gets changed to the point you wonder if you're still in the same film.
Don't expect any twists here because that's not what this movie is about. You know who the bad guy is and you know how it's going to end... It's all been done before and done a lot better... Still. I did enjoy it thanks mostly to a very likeable Shia and a smoking hot Sarah Roemer who spends most of the movie showing her rear end (and very nice it is too!).
