Review of Disturbia (2007) by Dustin W — 29 Oct 2012
I was very surprised by this film. I wasn't expecting much but my expectations were blown out the window 3/4 of the way through. First off Shia LaBeouf is a superb actor and everything about this film had that very "real" touch to it.
Never once really felt like you were watching someone act on the screen. The fact that barely any of the first 95% of the film takes place outside of the house does wonders for setting the mood of feeling locked in your own home.
There was a good balance of thrills and comedy which surprisingly doesn't take away from the movie. The humor is not forced on you at any point and comes naturally from the scene. I was also very impressed with the scene involving the dual action in his room and his buddy in the garage on the webcam.
Great build-up of suspense.
