Review of District B13 (2004) by Chris E — 02 Mar 2009
Very solid action flick that just happens to be set in the future. The problem I have with most movies set in the future is the fact that they spend too much time and money focusing on the look and toys of the future, and not enough on just telling a good story.
That definately is not a problem here. This movie is the first from the teaming of Luc Besson and Pierre Morel, the guys that just brought us the surprisingly good 'Taken'. If you thought the action in 'Taken' was a too unbelievable, you'll realize after seeing this that the director actually showed quite a bit of restraint.
Here's a challenge: Try to count the number of jumps seen in the foot chase that takes place during the opening ten minutes.
