Review of District B13 (2004) by Jeremy C — 26 Sep 2009
A ridiculous and fun parkour action movie that only lets you down in a few places, namely the final fight scene and the plot. There is almost depth to the 'jungle is home' idea for B13, but rather than be hampered by class deliberation it's used as a dumb plot device for a dumb plot.
It does induce a ton of action though! The creativeness surrounding the two parkour ninjas, whom of course can't be touched by bullets, is awesome to watch. They weave and spring through obstacles like.
.. soap (well that's how the movie explains it). Brought me back to my preteen Jackie Chan marathons, where all I cared about the improvisational fights and escapes. It was fun!
