Review of District 9 (2009) by Jordan D — 11 Aug 2013
This movie seems to think it's smarter than it really is. It begins so strongly with so much potential then disolves into a Michael Bay-esque action flick that is unnecessarly gory. The story here is highly heavy-handed, even to go sofar as setting the movie in Johanasberg. give me a break.
Kudos, also, to Sharlto Copley for a first rate performance which most definitely deserved the Oscar nod it did.
