Review of District 9 (2009) by Brandon W — 13 Jan 2015
District 9 is a fantastic science fiction film that is quite the debut of director and writer Neill Blomkamp. When I was watching the movie, it surprisingly didn't remind me of any other films and even if it did, it made it its own thing.
The effects are amazing, and the make-up is astounding. The plot is simple, but is very effective. The action is exciting to watch, and there's a lot of nice ideas in it. Since it is an unknown film with unknown actors, it's really well-acted, especially Sharlto Copley.
It's well-written, and it's exciting enough to be a memorable movie.
