Review of District 9 (2009) by Tristan M — 28 May 2014

Good alien movies are hard to come by, it's hard to find one that is really good, or makes sense and doesn't end super unrealistically. District 9 is one of the better alien movies I've seen, it's not creepy or scary like other ones are, the plot is fairly new, and the acting is good for the most part.

I like how the aliens are peaceful and not hear to kill everyone like EVERY other alien movie, and how one works with a humain to survive. I thought that was neat, and different and I wish more movies did it.

I also liked how it didn't take place in America in some big city like EVERY movie does, so that was cool and it allowed new things to be added to the plot, like the Nigerian arms gang. I can admit the first 45 minutes where not very interesting and I didnt really like it and I didn't like the documentary/TV style of filming.

But when it got into the movie more it got to be surprisingly good and interesting. And the way it ended was really surprising and I really liked it, and how it wasn't a happily ever after type. The aliens were pretty good looking, with a insect like apperence, although their skin had a paint like texture and look to it.

But it was a great good, and I wish all alien movies where this good.
