When I first watched "District 13" I was amazed. The acrobatics and fighting were very realistic and very nice, there were no ropes used (which I appreciate very much in an action movie) and the plot was simple but smart and solid so that it did not prohibit you from enjoying all the running, kicking and screaming. So I was anticipating "DIstrict 13 Ultimatum" with anxiety as I wanted to be amused again!

This second movie fails to deliver the goods. Even the parkour and fighting scenes are second class compared to the original, almost as if the actors and directors said "Ok the first movie was a success, let's make a couple of extra million with a moderate sequel".

The plot seems more interesting than the original at first, as it is more complicated, but it leaves logical gaps as the movie progresses, thus losing interest.

Some action scenes are nice, but others are too farfetched and unrealistic (like the one they drive inside the building).

Finally, the climax ... It's not :) The epilogue is far too common and unrealistic. "The corrupt one who becomes good for no apparent reason", or the "innocent politician, entangled in a general corrupt scenery who tries to do what's best for his people"... Those motifs I find boring and dissapointing.

I cannot rate this movie any lower because, especially if you haven't watched the original, you will like it, it is something not very common. But compared to the original, it is honestly second class in every single sector.
