Review of District 13: Ultimatum (2009) by Paul N — 13 Feb 2010

Finally a sequel to a movie that actually lives up to the first one! While this won't win any awards for its script or acting, the action scenes are incredible, and just as intense as the first. And unlike many action movies, none of it seemed "already done" to me.

I really feel that they took great pains to keep things just as fresh as the first. Plus the added "re-take" shots were a nice touch. Just like in the first, I was impressed by the camera work (especially in the intro) and pacing.

All the elements that made the first one so fun were brought back, and in some cases, improved upon. This is how to make a sequel! My only real beef with this sequel was the ending seemed a bit hokey.
