Review of District 13: Ultimatum (2009) by Bobby L — 28 Apr 2010
Sequel, from a different director, has a few flaws, notably the absence of the character of Lola, Leito's sister, and his driving force in the first one, and a rather silly messaged ending that was overly cheesy.
With that, the new blood kept things feeling fresh, and the action is just as good in the first one, and the banter and partnership between Leito and Damien is nicely explored. The best part of the movie is the opening shots establishing the different sectors of the titular district, and showing off how it evolved in the intervening three years.
