Review of Distant Voices, Still Lives (1988) by Rajiv 2 — 07 Dec 2009
This film is awesome. I've only just discovered the films of Terence Davies and they've blown my mind. With a script so utterly believable and images so nostalgic and brilliant, this is the best film I've seen that conveys memory.
Check out the scene of the two sisters in the cinema that then cuts to the 'accident' sequence - it's breath-taking. This film is now in my top five all time favourites. Davies is a genius.
