Review of Disgrace (2008) by Nick D — 19 Jun 2010
I am a huge fan of John Malkovich and was expecting a lot from this movie because of the positive reviews I had read. Unfortunately, this was just a painful movie to watch, due to the nature of the plot, and it was not redeemed by the performance of the actors.
It just left me empty and angry at the end. Although I am sure people could argue that the ending is open to interpretation, for me, it was just a lesson in moral relativism that I am not willing to swallow.
No matter where you come from, what color you are, how you were raised, how poor you are, there is no excuse for torture and rape.
