Review of Disgrace (2008) by Jim F — 03 Oct 2009
Beautifully shot, but the characters (especially the daughter) are incomprehensible and act irrationally. This is ok, when the characters' motivations are explained. But here, you are just left to wonder.
Though others liked Malkovich in this, I found his character monotonal and with little range. And the solidly Christian message (suffering is good, let's inflict it on ourselves) is a little too pat for me.
