Review of Disco Godfather (1979) by Michael S — 12 Mar 2014
(59%).
One of the final ever black soul movies. The transition from gritty funk soundtracked revolutionary movies of the turn of the decade, into out-and-out self parody disco themed comedy is epitomised here. Rudy Ray Moore is great fun as the lead, and the movie is really entertainingly bad in the best possible sense. Worth a look simply for Rudy to say "Put your weight on it!" 200 times. Good fun.
