Review of Disaster Movie (2008) by Miss A — 24 Sep 2010

If Vanessa Minnillo was not one of the most attractive females imaginable, this disaster of a movie might not have ever registered a star. Nah, there are a couple chuckle-able scenes, but it's definitely not better than a 2/10.

This is supposed to be funny, but the laughs are few and far between. I liked the Juneau character because Juneau is indeed annoying. The Chipmunks singing heavy metal was kind of funny but was quickly followed by something so unfunny that I had to rethink whether or not I thought the heavy metal was funny.

Mostly, the movie is just like most things pedaled to teens: rubbish. And the teens have set that standard themselves. The movies parodied are just random really...anything that could fit and mostly they did not fit. They were not really tied to any discernable plot. The jokes and references were mostly unfunny. I just don't see how the writers could see the finished product and think: hey, this is going to make people laugh. I feel bad saying that but damn, make a little effort to give the viewers their money's worth.
