I don't know why critics bashed this so hard, but at the same time it doesn't surprise me. Most movie critics like to bash movies that are "stupid comedies", but the reality is, there are some good gems in this type of genre.
Norm and Artie are great together in this. Still one of my favorite comedies years after my first viewing. If you're a fan of Norm Macdonald, you will love this movie. Also, Chris Farley has a funny role as a side character.
One of his last before he died.
