Review of Dirty Wars (2013) by Jared F — 17 Oct 2013
Do you really want to know the hard-to-swallow truth behind The War on Terror?...probably not. After launching the attack on the US Al Queda hid like cowards from the outcome they had to see coming. This wasn't like easy wars from the past where each side wears one color and they meet on open battlefields, some Americans are shocked when they learn that our raids and bombings have taken innocent lives.
I'm not, because it was never our intentions to hurt anyone but the enemy, but our enemy struck first with intentions to ONLY kill innocent people and stacked up over 3,000 civilians. To get outraged at our military for killing a few innocent people huddled with known terrorists is hard not to judge.
Well, you know that guy making pipe bombs in your kitchen and always toting an AK-47, he isn't a used car salesman. Just because some families take a loss for being around terrorists is a shame but they had to know someone was putting them in harms way.
This documentary is a great look at the gruesome truth behind our war and doesn't get too preachy about it. Osama Bin Laden was found in an ordinary compound surrounded by innocent people from his own country, so who do you blame when a target has no consciousness for the people around them if to get to them we have to play dirty sometimes.
A real dilemma when you consider our objectives and soldiers overseas.
