Review of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988) by Steve B — 07 Feb 2012
Another one of those all time comedy greats of the eighties and a classic favourite of mine. An unusual mix for starters, Steve Martin and Michael Caine star, but helps actually as although both are con men, they both carry their own style.
Very expensive looking location shoots on the French Riviera including casinos, villas and luxury elements in the scenes shown. Some really amusing scenes are featured, Freddie Benson's numb legs and the Doctor's healing methods, culture training and Rupreck the monkey boy! Both fight and try to outwit each other to win a bet using their own skills but it's ending is surprising and a unexpected twist.
Good fun, great comedy and both pull it off in their own acting way.
