Stephen Frears' tale of illegal immigrants living and working in constant fear of deportation in England. Okwe was a doctor in Nigeria before fleeing to England to work as a taxi driver, night porter, and on call doctor.
Okwe lives with Senay who is also an illegal from Turkey who works as a maid at the same hotel, where some sort of organ selling business is going on. The pair are exploited at every turn and are immaculately portrayed by Tautou and Ejiofor.
