Review of Dirty Mary Crazy Larry (1974) by Emanuel H — 14 Sep 2007
'Vanishing point' for the airhead set. though loaded with car chase action, stunts and thrills, it is devoid of the driving oil-stained heart ond mythological overtones of the aforementioned 'Point'.
The acting, save Morrow and Roarke is stunningly forced and contrivances abound. Obviously meant to take advantage of the Mopar set, it aims relatively low and rarely rises. It even attempts to ape the Finale of 'point' in a clumsy and eye-rollingly easy 'shock' ending which does nothing to evoke pathos as the characters involved, after 93 minutes, do not manage to engage us on any emotional level.
however, if you leave your brain outside the door, light one up and crack open a brew, no harm is done, here.
