Review of Dirty Harry (1971) by Peter H — 12 May 2011
PURE FUCKING AWESOMENESS! Clint Eastwood is at his finest in this action-packed, well shot, tense crime-thriller. Dirty Harry follows the story of an San Francisco investigator, Harry Callahan (Clint Eastwood), that is trying to catch a homicidal maniac. It focuses on action while remaining intelligent and extremely refreshing. Dirty Harry is perhaps the most iconic crime-thriller ever made, and for very good reason.
The reason Dirty Harry stands above most, if not all other crime-thrillers is due to Clint Eastwood's performance , which is as bad ass as anything I've ever seen. The line deliver from Eastwood is just plain awesome, and the last lines of the movie are just what you want to hear. Don Siegel's excellent direction is another adding factor, as the action scenes, particularly the bus scene, are generations ahead of its time.
Dirty Harry kicks ass and takes names and does it in style. Anyone interested in action movies must watch this movie. It has aged better than any other movie of its kind and is a staple in the crime-thriller drama.
