Review of Dirty Harry (1971) by Shane D — 17 Jan 2010
This is vintage Eastwood. I think more iconic than anything he did in his spaghetti Westerns, the image of Harry Callihan pointing his gun and asking some punk if â??they felt luckyâ?? surely will end up being Clintâ??s most memorable contribution to cinema once its all said and done.
I know that there have been numerous incarnations of Dirty Harryâ??s exploits since this, some even argue Gran Turino is Harry as he would have been as an octogenarian, but I donâ??t believe any beat the pure cool that seems to ooze from this original effort.
Feeling somewhat like an exploitation film, with a slightly higher budget, its undeniable as to why this film is so revered and remembered. On a side note, I think Iâ??m gonna try and watch me some more Eastwoodâ?¦.
