Review of Dirty Harry (1971) by Indi V — 21 Oct 2011
A fine movie. Never dull, always exciting, and incredibly vicious as well as gritty. Eastwood gives a good performance here, but for me the most impressive aspect is the film's cinematography, which is truly remarkable especially in the many scenes where Harry is chasing Scorpio and the helicopters flying over San Francisco.
The only issue I have is I wish they kept Scorpio's face a secret as long as possible. We know 20 minutes in what he looks like and it does rob us a little especially since the actor playing Scorpio was cast specifically because he "had the face of a choirboy".
Still, Eastwood kicks butt and takes names, so that's fun.
