Review of Dirty Harry (1971) by Steve W — 06 Feb 2013
This movie is one of the best police thrillers of all time, and my absolute favourite film. I love the backdrop of San Francisco, and the performances from Eastwood as Harry Callahan and Andy Robinson as the Scorpio Killer.
The moral line the hero crosses makes a statement of the time, as well as relevant themes to this day. There is the law, but sometimes it doesn't go the right way as we want and then there are those who would rather take it into their own hands.
With a nice script and pace, a gripping thriller from start to finish. I also have to give props to the musical score. Creepy and haunting, and adds just the right amount of tension.
