Review of Dirty Harry (1971) by Trevor H — 09 Oct 2013
The movie that inspired a generation and a genre. Clint Eastwood stars as Inspector Harry Callaghan, a San Francisco cop who grows ever impatient with the tolerance of society towards criminals. Eastwood introduces his Magnum handgun to a worldwide audience in this movie.
The first in the Dirty Harry trilogy, it was followed by Magnum Force and The Enforcer, defining the post-Vietnam era of 1970s America. Masterfully directed by Don Segal, who taught Eastwood much about film making.
