Instantly quotable, Dirty Harry is a great cat and mouse movie about a loose-cannon cop who doesn't like to play by the rules. If it seems hackneyed, it's only because so many later films borrowed from it.
It still holds up today, but may be a bit on the slow side for today's adrenaline junkie audiences.
