Review of Dirty Harry (1971) by Johnny S — 27 Jun 2014
This is the first Dirty Harry movie of the series. Clint Eastwood carved his name in American movie fame with this maverick San Francisco detective character, Harry Callahan.
The city is desperate when it chooses Harry to be the one to track down a rooftop killer named Scorpio (Andy Robinson) who has now captured a girl, buried her alive and will let her die if they don't pay a ransom. Harry tracks down this psychotic kidnapper/killer only to watch him get free on a legal technicality. Undeterred, Harry pursues the guy relentlessly, breaking all the rules along the way. Follow the sequels Magnum Force; The Enforcer; Sudden Impact and the last one The Dead Pool.
