I think a film like this should be judged on how many times you laugh, and I laughed an awful lot as I watched it. I saw Daddy's Home, which was better reviewed (still an awful 30%), but I didn't laugh once.

Yes, there were major plot inconsistencies, ,and yes, the sappy ending didn't match with the tone of the rest of the film (not to mention it felt like large sections were edited out, making some scenes downright confusing), but I go see these movies to let go and laugh. If it can do that, it gets three stars from me. If this had a more coherent, less-contrived narrative, it would've gotten more from me.
