Review of Dirty Grandpa (2016) by Bob R — 11 Jun 2016

So as a movie, Dirty Grandpa is pretty bad. However for dirty pleasure laughs, it is pretty funny. I mean there are so many plot holes in this thing it's like the writers didn't even try. Clearly these guys didn't give a rats rear end about making sure this thing made any sense, but that doesn't mean I didn't laugh a bunch.

The movie basically went in waves. There were the set up/trying to tell a story scenes, and then there were the you might want to take a shower afterward comedy scenes. I'm still surprised Robert de Niro did this movie, maybe he lost a bet? However, he delivers the funniest lines and scenes of the movie.

It's too bad I can't say the same for Zac Efron, as he isn't nearly as funny as he was in Neighbors. Many of the supporting actors are pretty funny including Jason Mantzoukas who almost steals the show.

If you are easily offended, stay absolutely clear of this thing. If you can tolerate some crude humor and want to have fun with a few friends, go check it out.
