Review of Dirty Grandpa (2016) by Matthew F. J — 20 Jun 2016
Dirty Grandpa is a well done little comedy with limited goals one could say. Aimed at the teenager age group, what could have been a great conflicts of generation type of stories ends up to be just a comedy.
some scenes are great thanks to DeNiro who once again proves how much he likes to play with his own aura and remain fearless at 72 years old, going as far as doing a rap battle in a scene of the film.
Efron is nice as usual, he doesn't seem to take himself too seriously which is always a trait I like with younger actors. The rest of the film has a few good scenes, some raunchy lines and some nice second characters.
unfortunately as likable as the film is to it's audience, it doesn't raise above the level of other comedies done in that same spirit. It's light, well shot, and entertaining.
