Dirty Grandpa is a painfully unfunny comedy that wastes the talents of the cast. I don't know why Robert De Niro signed onto this film. He is so much better than this film. Zac Efron is fine, but Aubrey Plaza is extremely annoying.
The film mistakes vulgarity for humor. Some of the things that come out of De Niro's mouth are extremely crass. I was shocked. I cracked a smile maybe once, but that's about it. The film lacks any laughs.
The film only goes for lowbrow humor. It never works. The plot is about as generic as any mainstream comedy. I wasn't shocked about that. But the film is just horribly unfunny. Overall, the film is complete garbage.
Avoid at all costs.
