Review of Dirty Grandpa (2016) by E T — 25 Aug 2016

I almost didn't see this movie because of all the horrible reviews. That would have been too bad because I found Dirty Grandpa to be hilarious. Does it have a great plot? Of course not. But when the title is "Dirty Grandpa" I wasn't expecting Academy Award material.

I just wanted to see a movie that would give me a few laughs. Well, it damn near brought me to tears laughing so hard in a few places. Yes, it is incredibly raunchy and crude, but with all the violence, political crap, and suffering in the world, sometimes it's good to just lighten up and laugh at inappropriate stuff (you know you want to)! I couldn't for the life of me figure out why there were so many bad reviews when my 3 friends and I just about died laughing the whole time.

Then I figured it out - perhaps people who don't like the movie: (A) have sticks up their butts, (B) set the bar too high for a movie entitled "Dirty Grandpa", (C) are shocked that Robert De Niro wants to have a little fun and make a movie like this because he wants to, not because he needs the work, or (D) do not appreciate rude, crude humor - again, the title "Dirty Grandpa" doesn't exactly scream "highly sophisticated, refined humor".

I'm sorry for you, because while you're sitting there in mild shock over some of the inappropriate scenes, I'm going to be laughing my butt off and enjoying the Eighth Wonder of the World - Zac Efron's abs.

Robert De Niro is in damn good shape too.
