Review of Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights (2004) by Sharni C — 17 Jun 2012
This film is one HUGE missed opportunity. It contains one of the most magical intros ever seen in a film, with pictures of postcard Havanna along with music from Carlos Santana - this was probably too good to be true because the whole rest is such a failure.
The leads have zero chemistry, the character's actions are hardly comprehensible, the plot feels like it's just glued together. The story is terrible, there is no spark, it's just so...argh...it makes me angry! Because that music... that music speaks to my soul. The cuban beats, these feel-good sounds... this film could have really been something.
