Fun movie, but the anachronistic soundtrack kind of distracted me. I had the same problem with "Butch Cassidy." If you commit to a time period, everything about it needs to work, including the music.
It brought me out of it. If the movie actually took place in the 1980s, it wouldn't be bad. But if that happened, the film would lose its "innocence lost" subtext, which gave the film its purpose and theme.
