Review of Dirty Dancing (1987) by Baurushan J — 24 Aug 2012
Hello my name is Baurushan and I'm sorry I haven't been doing reviews for a long time. My previous reviews I have been doing for a long time in the past were kinda rubbish. I was stealing sources from others, I was preparing for my birthday and my reviews were getting shorter and shorter so I took a month or two break and came back.
Now here's my comeback review of Dirty Dancing. I've gotta say, I really liked this movie and it remains one of the most memorable movies of the 1980s even though this movie takes place in the early 1960s but that's not the point.
Anyway the story is about a teenage girl called Frances Houseman nicknamed Baby who is bored of coping along with her older sister and her guests. One night, she pokes her head into a party and is struck by Johnny Castle, an expert dancer himself who causes Baby to fall in love head over heels with him.
When Johnny's dance partner gets pregnant after a fling with one of the waiters, Baby volunteers to Johnny's partner next in line however her dad will have none of that believing that Johnny is a low life and her daughter is too young to understand her own feelings.
Dirty Dancing was a surprise hit back then and it still is now spawning several hit-singles with a long-living legacy. I've heard this movie also spawned a sequel out of nowhere and I don't think I'll watch that until I'll get some good reviews about it as such.
Phew! My comeback review of Dirty Dancing gets a decent 10/10.
