Review of Dirty Dancing (1987) by Daniel A — 22 Oct 2011
The classic chick flick and perhaps the most beloved dance movie of the eighties, Dirty Dancing is likeable, quotable and endlessly rewatchable. Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze at their peaks, are the ultimate wrong-side-of-the-tracks couple, bringing hip-swinging chemistry to both their dialogue and dance sequences.
It might not be clever or particularly fresh, but Dirty Dancing has a feel good charm that's difficult to ignore, and has consequently seen it become one of the most affectionately remembered movies of its decade.
