Review of Dinosaur (2000) by Charles P — 21 Jan 2011
Aladar is adobted by a family of monkeys after hsi egg is snatched away before he was born. To him, they are his family. When a catastrophic shower of comets crash on the Island all remaining dinosaurs form a herd and travel to the breeding gfrounds where it's safe.
Disney has a great reputation with me, most of their films being enjoyable. This is no exception. I do feel, however, that it was way too similar to The Land Before Time. The travel to a beautiful safe new home, and the characters being dinosurs they definately have similarities. This one is fun and heart-warming, just like most disney flicks, and the happy ending was predictable and cliched, but that's expected for a kids flick.
The moral of the story is no-one gets left behind, and also teamwork played a key role in the plot. The visual effects were amazing, the creatures actually looked believable and real, and it's an extremely enjoyable story.
Overall "Dinosuar" is another enjoyable and good Disney flick, but originality lacks with all the similarities with The Land before Time.
