Review of Dinner for Schmucks (2010) by Kevin S — 07 Sep 2011
I'm not too sure as of what to say about "Dinner for Schmucks". I will admit, right off the bat, that there several parts in which I laughed. I mean, I wasn't busting out loud or anything, but at times it put a smile on my face.
However, with that said I can't say I enjoyed this movie at all I almost always love any movie that Paul Rudd is in but that was not the case with this. For starters, this movie is all over the place and it's a constant mess.
A lot of the characters are straight up annoying and it really ruins the whole thing. I normally like Steve Carrell but he didn't do anything for me and neither did Zach Galifianakis. In fact, Zach pretty much ruined every scene he was in.
I really don't know what else to say. "Dinner for Schmucks" ultimately fails as a comedy and does absolutely new. I guess if you're looking for a weird comedy that has its characters in bizarre situations and pretty bad dialogue than this movie is for you.
