Review of Dinner for Schmucks (2010) by Lindsay W — 28 Jun 2013
As funny as Steve Carrell can be, and as likable as I find Paul Rudd, I'm continually amazed at the crap the two of them can sign up for. Steve Carrell is cringe-worthy in Dinner for Schmucks, exuding an aura of sadly pathetic instead of quirky funny.
Paul Rudd is just blah. The most laughs the film has are at the actual Dinner, which takes up very little of the film itself. Mostly it's a very hackneyed comedy about misunderstandings.
