Review of Dinner for Schmucks (2010) by Philip S — 25 Nov 2013
Not nearly as bad as I expected it to be. It's still not my cup of tea, but there is an audience out there for this film. There are some nice moments and the cast is pretty solid (on paper at least).
I enjoyed Steve Carell more than I usually do because he was less his typical goofy self and more of a character. Here he plays a slightly different kind of fool and it works quite well at times. I'm certainly not going to recommend that people run out to see it, but there are far far worse films you can be sucked into seeing.
Makes me wonder how it compares to the original.
