Review of Dilwale (2015) by Rajansatish P — 19 Dec 2015
The story is 2 centuries old that was cooked up again and served stale. As the movie begins you started to feel the likes of Rajinikanth's 'Baasha'. Then as the movie grows up and reaches the interval one can recall the likes of Kamal Haasan's 'Kaadhal Parisu'.
Anyways lets not get nostalgic and see what the movie has to deliver, the director tried to give a heady mix of Action, Romance, Sentiment , Comedy but the cocktail turned out to like 'Smoker's Cough' .
The movie did not have plot to carry the movie with powerful stars in it .The comic portion did not provoke any laughs, the fight sequences ain't jaw dropping. Varun Dhawan from Badlapur is simply wasted.
Kajol seems to have tried a lot to act but in vein. Bulgaria and Goa are beautifully shot. There were times SRK gave us Dil Se, Chalte Chalte, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Swades, Chak De! India ,Om Shanthi Om,My Name Is Khan, Jab Tak Hai Jaan and then came Chennai Express, Happy New Year and Dilwale.
You know what I mean. SRK tried his best to carry the movie in his shoulders. This film will appeal to diehard fans of SRK which carries a higly predictable story line with twist and turns that ain't surprising.
